How God Wrote It

Jose Maria and Anna teaching catechism

Jose Maria and Anna met serving in the same parish youth ministry, assigned together to the Sunday children's catechism class.

Neither was looking for anything more than to serve — but week after week, planning lessons and praying together, they found a quiet certainty growing between them.

They like to say God introduced them long before they introduced themselves.

Now they ask for your prayers as they begin a life built on the same foundation that first brought them together.

A Note on the Mass

The Nuptial Mass will follow the Roman Catholic Rite of Marriage — entrance procession, Liturgy of the Word, exchange of vows and rings, Liturgy of the Eucharist, and final blessing. We invite you to participate prayerfully with us.

Out of respect for the church, covered shoulders and modest necklines and hemlines are appreciated. Gentlemen in a barong or suit; ladies in a dress with sleeves or a shawl. A soft, reverent palette of cream, sage, blush, and muted gold is encouraged.

Questions

May non-Catholic guests receive Holy Communion?+

Out of respect for Catholic teaching, the reception of Holy Communion is reserved for Catholics in a state of grace. Non-Catholic guests are warmly invited to come forward with arms crossed over the chest to receive a blessing from the priest.

How long is the Nuptial Mass?+

The full Nuptial Mass is approximately 75 to 90 minutes. We invite you to arrive 15 minutes early to settle in quietly before the entrance procession.

Is photography allowed during the ceremony?+

We kindly ask guests to refrain from photography during the Mass so we may all remain prayerfully present. Our hired photographers will capture every moment, and you'll be able to share in those memories afterward.

What is the dress code?+

Semi-formal and modest. Out of reverence for the church, we appreciate covered shoulders and modest necklines and hemlines. A soft, reverent palette is encouraged.

Are children welcome?+

Yes — children are a beautiful part of our parish family and are most welcome at the Mass and reception.

Will there be parking at the Cathedral?+

Limited parking is available within Intramuros. We recommend arriving early or using a ride-sharing service.
